I saw many signs say "MAX 50km/hr" and "MAX 70km/hr" in the area. Are they any different from the regular speed limits? What I meant to say is when I take the road test, do I ride under the MAX speed indicated on the sign? Or, can I do 10% over the indicated speed limit? Thanks in advance for the answers.

After reading the various BCCOM sportbike meeting reports, I was surprised to hear talk about having a TRANSPONDER put on motorcycles. Rather than me replying without some data, I opened the Bill C14 from the BCCOM page and did a simple word search using the full Adobe Acrobat word search system. I spelled it transpondor(s) and transponder(s). Please do the same to confirm this. If your results are different, please post them here asap.

Adobe word search for Transpondor:
The results were "0".

Adobe word search for Transponder:
The results were "0".

Google says:

Transpondor: Did you mean: transponder Top 2 results shown

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transponder: A transponder (short-for Transmitter-responder[1] and sometimes abbreviated to XPDR[2], XPNDR[3], TPDR[4] or TP[5]) is an electronic device that produces a response when it receives a radio-frequency interrogation.

I have asked all along that motorcycle enthusiasts do their homework when attending these types of events, as misinformation can be rampant, and then used as a diversion tactic to shed light on other subjects....but some of you are now up in arms and seemingly approving this tactic which appears at this time to be based on unproven information and or hyperbole.

Does anyone have documentation on this transponder topic? If so, please share it here.

Some are comparing this Bill C14 and the transponder rumour to religious persecution. I wonder if this is the desired effect the organizers were after? I know there are some highly educated and rational people on here so I ask that you please, please do your homework.

Thank you.

So the story goes like this: I was driving along in Kamloops in my cage. I'd just pulled out of the Safeway and was accelerating towards the green light intersection. It was 9pm and the roads were deserted. I glance down for a moment to get the music going. When I look up, it's a yellow, and since I was almost at the intersection and still accelerating I decided to just go through. Just as I a cross the other end the lights go up. The officer pulls me over and he asks if I knew what I did. I politely respond that I'd been speeding, which was true, i was 60 in a 50 zone. At the moment, I thought that's what he was pulling me over for since I thought that I'd cleared the yellow light very cleanly (again, there were no cars in sight in any direction). I answer all of the officer's questions politely and even thanked him for the ticket. I drove home angry, but didn't show it to the officer.

So I send a notice of dispute because I thought it was pretty BS. I get a letter from ICBC stating that they've gotten my letter and to wait for a court date. 11 months later I get a letter of Remittance stating that my fines are due. This means that I never got a notice for a hearing.

The twist to the story is that I'd just moved to Kamloops and my driver's license address said Vancouver. The officer also issued a warning to have my address changed. I did that the same week. My car's insurance had already been changed to my new address for a couple months.

Anyways, I went into ICBC to renew my license today and was told I had an outstanding ticket. I was then told I'd have to goto the courthouse to see what I can do.

The question is: what CAN I do? Or, rather, what DO I have to do?

All help is appreciated.

btw: Kamloops RCMP have been killing/shooting/beating innocent people, driving drunk into things and watching prisoners eff each other recently. They seem pretty bad ass and I'd rather not piss them off.
